A little About Us:
At Tanis ClockWorks, every watch is meticulously hand-assembled in my studio in Bradenton, Florida. Each timepiece begins as an idea and comes to life through carefully sourced components—the case, crystal, movement, dial, hands, and strap or bracelet. Once assembled, every movement is hand-regulated using our in-house Timegrapher, bringing together craftsmanship, attention to detail, and precision in every build.The inspiration for Tanis ClockWorks began with a simple search for a retirement gift.I was looking for something special for an employee and had some corporate recognition points to spend. A quality watch seemed like the perfect choice. But after researching and trying on different models, I quickly discovered that the watches that caught my eye were often hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars beyond what I was able to spend.Then I discovered the world of microbrands.There were dozens of smaller watchmakers offering familiar features, interesting designs, and ideas that felt completely different from the mainstream brands. Eventually, I came across the concept of “build-your-own” watches, and something clicked.I thought, Why not build one myself?So I did.And to my surprise, I loved it.Sourcing the components was half the fun. Waiting for each part to arrive was exciting. And the assembly—while sometimes painstaking and absolutely exhausting—was incredibly rewarding. There was something uniquely satisfying about taking a collection of individual components and turning them into a finished timepiece that existed nowhere else.That first build led to another, and then another. Before long, Tanis ClockWorks was born.Today, we specialize in modified, homage, and one-of-a-kind builds—not replicas. We take inspiration from designs we admire, then combine carefully selected components, modifications, and details to create something distinctly our own.To me, that's the heart of Tanis ClockWorks.When I finish a watch, I want to know that it isn't simply something I could have bought off a shelf. I want it to reflect an idea, a combination of components, and a vision that came together in my studio.No two builds have to be the same.And when you wear a Tanis ClockWorks timepiece, you're wearing something that was assembled by hand, regulated with care, and built because someone had an idea—and decided to bring it to life.
