A little About Us:
Our Watches are all hand assembled right here at my studio in Bradenton Florida. Each one starts with an idea. Each watch is a separately sourced collaboration. We hand select the Case, the Crystal, the Movement, the Dial, the Hands, the Strap or Bracelet. To further set us apart all of our watch movements are hand regulated using our in house Timegrapher.Tanis Clockworks was sparked by searching for a gift to be presented to a retiring employee. Additionally I had some corporate recognition points to spend in a company catalog, so I thought a nice watch might be a good idea. While reviewing, researching, trying on, thinking forward, the few I was most interested in were always a few points further away than I could spend. On the open market, looking at what I really liked was $100s or even $1000s outside of my comfortable budget. As my researching and scouring the net progressed - Dozens of micro brands begin popping up, and I am noticing some similarities as well a few unique features. I also start stumbling across the build your own links and sites, and figure why not? I'm 50 something years old, hands are not as steady as they used to be, and my vision ....... well lets be realistic I wear progressive lens glasses and i use the camera on my phone more to "blow something up".So let's try to build a watch, lol. And wouldn't you know it, I kind of like it. The sourcing is fun, the gathering of all the gear is exciting and the actual build is impressively exhausting.Modified, Homage, One of Kind, but not a replica - while this may seem as a gray zone, there is a difference. When I'm done with a piece I know it is exactly what I set out to create and that no one, anywhere, has the exact same watch.
